（迪拜17日综合电）西亚沙漠地带近日罕见下暴雨，阿曼就因为暴雨出现洪灾，酿成至少18人死亡，接着邻国阿联酋也降暴雨，导致多地道路淹水，第二大商业城市迪拜在12小时下足2年份的雨量，也是自1949年有纪录以来最大降雨量。迪拜国际机场也因过度密集的雨势，导致机场区域淹水。
从周日开始，阿曼即遭受猛烈的雷电、暴雨和强风袭击，导致阿曼北部和东部多个地区出现山洪，造成至少18人死，多是学童。
阿曼教育部周日关闭多数地区的学校，以防洪水再次来袭，多条道路也因此封闭。阿曼空军出动直升机协助救援受困的数十民众。
暴雨周一晚间开始波及周边其他海湾国家，包括巴林和阿联酋。阿联酋自周一晚暴雨就下个不停。第二大商业城市迪拜周二持续风雨交加。
迪拜属于沙漠干燥气候，突如其来的暴雨，造成市区道路多处淹成汪洋一片，也有民众苦中作乐，在淹大水的停车场划起橡皮艇。当局派出油罐车在街道和高速公路上抽走积水。阿联酋各地学校周一起全面停课，政府机构员工也以远距方式在家办公。阿联酋各地的一些公园和海滩于周二起关闭。
逾50航班停驶或取消
据外媒报导，迪拜每年平均降雨量约为3.14英吋，但过去12小时以来，当地却降下6.26英吋的暴雨，几乎将2年份的雨量一口气释放，才因此造成灾情。
暴雨同样冲击迪拜国际机场，这座全球第二忙碌的航空枢纽，因为过度密集的雨势，导致机场区域淹水，跑道和停机坪的客机，其引擎距离水面只剩下不到1公尺；机场只能紧急关闭半小时，进行内部整理和排水，并在事后声明中提到，这场暴雨让机场所有连外道路，几乎全部都陷入淹水停摆状态，逾50航班停驶或取消。

雨势来太快，加上道路排水系统无法负荷突然这么大的雨量，让许多地方的低洼地段快速淹水，许多驾驶被迫弃车逃离；而从当地居民的影片，还能看到商场外出现“人造瀑布”的景象。
气象单位表示，此次突降暴雨的主要成因，与一个穿过阿拉伯半岛的暴风系统有关，该系统是阿曼南部与伊朗东南部地区降雨的主要原因。
阿联酋当局警告，这场雨势会持续到周三，同时须慎防强烈对流下出现暴雨与冰雹灾情。
